In the end of the 15^th century, the French troops invaded Italy and viewed the Renaissance culture and art in Italy. After that, many Italian artists came over to France. Until the 16^th century, the French painting art was well developed by the influence of the Italy painting art and Nederland art. But the French Renaissance was different from Italy. It was not established on humanism, but affected by the powerful imperial authority. It was prospered under the KingFrancois I’s aesthetic conceptions. Fouquet was the most important painting artists in the early stage of the French Renaissance. He was named as the father of French Renaissance.

In the first half of the 16^th century, Fontainebleau art school was formed in French royal court. It developed based on Italy Mannerism. In Italy, the High Renaissance was from the end of the 15th century to the 16th century.
